This Bell UH-1B walkaround shows one of the displays at RAAF Museum, Point Cook. It is most dramatically perched up on pillar. Unfortunately for us, it is not brightly lighted so my poor little Canon digi had a bit of trouble coping with the lack of light! Nevertheless, there is still some useful info even on the blurred shots. A2-1020, CN: 63-13588, is perhaps one of the most significant Hueys to operate with Australian forces. In the Vietnam War at the Battle of Long Tan this chopper, along with A2-1022, dropped an ammo resupply to the Australian ground troops at night, at treetop height, through a tropical storm and flying over hundreds of enemy troops! It has been restored to virtually the same condition as it was at that battle.
